DESCRIPTION: Typically snow white & is a very light hardwood. This is the whitest colored wood available. Very close grain & very fine texture.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: North America
BOTANICAL NAME: Ilex Opaca
WORKING PROPERTIES: With very sharp knives or wood working tools; machines very well.
USES: Piano & organ keys inlay lines, carving & fine turnery. When dyed black is holly is a fine substitute for Ebony.
