DESCRIPTION: Sapwood is grayish white to light brown. The narrow heartwood is reddish brown to dark brown in color. The grain can be straight, but is often interlocked. This lumber has a coarse texture.

WORKING PROPERTIES: Fairly easy to work with. Nails, screws & glues well; can be sanded, stained & polished to a fine finish.
USES: Furniture, cabinet making, flooring, internal joinery, paneling & coffins.
